ISubsequent to purchase of Lurana 8 years ago she has received a thorough hull, engine, electrical, electronics, standing and running rigging replacement and or modification up to the highest standards at the Hinckley yard in Stuart, Fl Including the following:
Engine: Pathfinder diesel with fresh water cooling system; disassembled heat exchanger, cleaned, new elbows, hoses, replaced alternator w/90 amp.
Raw water pump; powder coated pulleys and hub.
Starter removed, tested and cleaned, replaced fuel lines; feed and return hoses.
Note: engine mounting is parallel to waterline: more efficient!
Cut access and installed cap to fuel tank, polished inside.Note: Engine and Transmission oils and filters changed yearly.
Electrical : Checked all D.C. wiring and insulation at panel D.C. and A.C. wiring terminals and switch panel.
New engine instrumentation gauges replaced, new battery bank (4 golf cart 6v Trojans.) fitted under setee(2 banks of high cycle power.) .
Note.
On extended cruise for power to run fridge, lights, stereo and accessories required only 30 minutes of engine run every OTHER day!
Cruiseair A/C (110 only) maintained.
Electronics : new GPS Raymarine C7 (augmented color screen) with “all Caribbean” chip, Raymarine Tridata unit.
Fathometer sounder moved to front of keel, depth read-out at helm pedestal and wind speed unit to install.
Icom radio VHF, 6 speakers(Alpine)stereo, inverter, Aquos TV, ships clock ,and barometer, and inclinometer.
Hull : Sanded all bottom below waterline down to Gel coat.
Applied two coats of 2000E and 2coats of Petit SR Black bottom paint; An additional 2coats of Petit SR Black again in May 2012.
Note; Rudder is skeg hung and is a hollow fiberglass shell with internal braces; this makes the rudder neutral floatation, resulting in no stress on the hardware.
The Cove and boot top were sanded down and Awl gripped A pleasing “Sea Foam Green”, compounded top sides, applied three coats collinite wax, custom Dynelle teathered drop Ladder in stern with over size SS support fittings.
On Feb. 2008 eng.
Shaft was bent during haul out @ Hinckley, replaced with new shaft, 3 blade prop.
Cutlass bng., new shaft tube and reinforced the tube void w/vynlester/glass mill.
Replaced cover of holding tank and hoses to manual pump.
Installed Dingy chocks with Starboard material at fwd. of mast SS pins secure dingy to trunk cabin top.
Sails and Rigging : Both the Main and the 135% Genoa are North Sails.
And are in Excellent condition, also a New asymmetrical w/sox (never used) is included.
All sheets and Halyards are available in the cockpit.
Wenches include 2 LEWMAR 46st-A, a 30C and a 40C and a hoist wench mounted on the mast; all wenches were serviced in may 2010.
A new SELDEN anodized 53’ double spreader Mast was installed by Fla.
Rigging, all new standing, clevices and pins and running rigging were added plus a new 300S Furlex Genoa roller furl was installed.
Luranas chain plates were X-rayed and found moisture free.
Docking cleats are 10” SS Herroshoff w/ backing plates.
Two complete Anchor Rhodes w/anchors and misc. healthy sheets and halyards are included.
Cockpit lockers contain; dock lines, fenders, spare zincs, and a bridle for the dingy hoist.
Galley and Storage : The galley is located on the Port side as you go down the companion way to the Saloon.
A 3Burner Princess stove with an Oven and safety switch on the 12 volt switch panel.
The 10 # propane bottle is in the aft cockpit starboard locker.
The fridge is a Nova Kool new sept 09 and the 10 cu.
Ft. fridge is double insulated, including the lids; inside the fridge there are 2 large movable trays and a drain.
A double SS sink H&C water with foot pump or pressure system.
Very ample storage ,under bunks, slid doors cabinets, and double cubbies…A fold out Solid teak table comes from the partition between the sink and L seated setee on the Port side.

Accommodations : Total Full Size sleeping room for 6 adults.
The Saloon (raised cabin) has ample seating for 7 adults, ( 8 if friendly) .
The main saloon has a convenient Liquor locker next to the very ample L shaped seating.
On the starboard side of the saloon, starting aft going forward, a quarter berth full size, NAV station (including switches panels (2), radios, chart table, and GPS).
The Pullman or owners quarters is mid ship in the trunk cabin, includes a large double bunk w/ louvered privacy doors , A/C duct & reading lights.
Two large cedar lined hanging lockers and drawers to Stbd..
A/C ducts are in Saloon, Owners qtrs. and the forward Head.
Five overhead Hatches, and 6 opening Port, Hatches.
The head has a sink, running water, Emergency Medical cabinet, sit-down- shower w/ sump, and toilet.
Plus ample storage.
A Fire extinguisher is bulkhead mounted in the head as well as an extinguisher mounted by the
companionway ladder.
A comment by the Owner; In my advancing years now pushing 75, I realize nothing is forever!!, Lurana owes me not a thing!.
I have delivered sail boats from Maine to Mexico, have a Master 100 Ton Certification and Never have been on A SAFER, More Stable, and Awesomely Elegant Boat.
She leaves NO wake, a wonderful balanced sailor and Fast.
She is going to make Someone Very Happy and Proud.
