Description:Atoll is a 1978 Freya 39, hull 16,is a Halverson design,
partially built by Gannon Yachts in Petaluma Ca. and has a custom
finished interior done by myself a professional boat builder and
Owner of Dolphin Marine Services.
The original design
won the Sidney to Hobart race 3 times 1963-65.
The running rigging was
laid out and installed by myself to provide ease of handling by one
person with the primary and secondary winches, mid cockpit traveler,
vang and boom break lines easily accessed in the cockpit.
All running
rigging is situated so it can also be taken care of by the crew from
the comfort of the cockpit.
The halyards are internal exiting the mast
to turning block and winches on the deck.
This is a very
comfortablesafe location as it gets you closer to the deck in adverse
conditions I have owned and lived part time now on her for over 23
wonderful years and taken exceptional pride and care in the
maintenance and have equipped her with the best of equipment.
Atoll
has a beautiful custom interior different from the rest.
The bulkheads
are of light ash with red oak custom made moldings, the cabin sole is
solid maple, the interior hull sides are made of 1-12" strip plank
white oak.
The main salon cabinets and shelving are solid red oak
using rounded corners where possible.
The ceiling is made of 1-12"
vertical grain strip plank cedar.
She has a large stand up nav.
station.
The interior has a pleasing light bright feel as opposed to
the depressing darker interiors used on many other vessels.
She is
very comfortable to live on all year in harbor or cruising Atoll is a
documented vessel.
Below is a general description and specs.
The hull
is built of solid fiberglass 1- 12" with a insulated flush deck and
small trunk cabin with 8 port lights.
The cockpit is small as this
vessel was intended for cruising, there is teak on the cockpit seats.
She has wheel steering a Yanmar 30hp diesel engine with less than 500
hours and a new fuel tank.
She is cutter rigged with a tapered mast
detachable inner stay and tanbark sails.
She has a fairly new dodger
and lee cloths around the cockpit.
I installed a stern mount SS self
leveling radar mast to mount equipment on as well as a custom lift for
removing the outboard and mounting it on the stern rail.
