Jina Maria is a 1980 Catalina 27.
It has the bullet proof Universal Diesel engine.
A new mast and roller furl ( Pro Furl) were installed in 1999.
The boat also has an am/fm/cd radio with speakers in both the cabin and cockpit, a VHF radio, a Datamarine depth finder and speedometer, a compass, and a Simrad Autotiller.
I replaced the port side bulkhead in 2003.
All lines were replaced in 2004.
The bottom was stripped and barrier coated in 2005.
I have tried to do at least one major project or upgrade every year.
I have never had any problem with the engine.
I change all the filters and oil regularly.
Every year I have the sails checked and repaired if necessary by Banks Sails.
I was not planning on selling Jina Maria, but ran across a larger Catalina I just couldn't pass up.
I think they are great boats.
They sail great and run well.
I would recommend a Catalina (especially this one) to anyone who is looking for a nice sailboat.
Editor's Note: This is the dinette model with a huge table (convertible) which will easily seat four comfortably for cards or lunch.
The cabin is larger than one would think, and it is very clean throughout.
Note the engine compartment.
With the tiller up, the cockpit is 'big'.
In addition, the lazerette storage is the envy of those with much larger boats.
Jina Maria is in excellent condition- paint the bottom with anti-fouling and she's ready for launch.
One other observation was the virtual absence of crazing cracks in the cockpit.
You'll find like.. only two !
This is most unusual and the tiller post has none at all.
