A water ballast system, the boat weighs 2,000 pounds on the trailer and takes on 1,000 pounds of water as ballast, is central to the Hunter 23.5's ability to be easily trailered.

Additionally the swing centerboard brings her minimum draft to 18" for almost limitless gunkholing among the islands along the Florida west coast.

The unique mast raising system allows for safe single handed mast rigging and reduces launch time.

The Hunter 23.5 has a large cockpit with centerboard controls and all running rigging is led aft for short handed sailing comfort and safety.

Below is a spacious cabin with two double berths, convertible settees, a functional galley and a portable head tucked under the forward berth.

LOA:23'8", beam 8'4", draft (board up/ down) 18"/ 5'6", 2001, 8 H.P. electric start Nissan outboard motor, two- 3 gallon fuel tanks, Doyle main and 110% genoa with Harken roller furling, swim ladder, Hunter trailer with new surge brakes and new tortion galvanized axle, custom closed cell foam cushions in cockpit, anchor with 100' of rode, tiller tamer, tiller extention, table for in the cabin or in the cockpit, dock lines, Suunto compass, Hawkeye depth sounder and all of the required Coast Guard safety equipment.

The canvas is all custom matching green Sunbrella with a cover on the roller furling genoa, mainsail cover, motor cover and a bimini .

There is also a custom Sunbrella storage cover to keep the sun off of the deck and cockpit when in storage.

I am a United States Sailing Association bareboat instructor and hold a 100 ton Coast Guard Masters license.
